La Joue du Loup
La Joue du Loup sits at an altitude of 1470m, and encompasses traditional cosy Alpine village life. With pretty architecture, La Joue du Loup is affectionately known at 'the wooden resort,' and is surrounded by larch forests for picture-perfect views. That said, this little resort provides everything you need for a comfortable ski holiday, from handy shops, its French ski school, a few bars and a club, all situated just a few steps from the pistes.

Along with the smaller Dévoluy village, the resort of La Joue du Loup forms the larger Dévoluy skiing area where you can enjoy over 100km of pistes. With an altitude of 1500m-2500m you can enjoy high snowfall throughout much of the season, with warmer sunshine than the higher resorts.
This area offers both green and blue runs stretching over 60km as well as 30km of red runs and 10km of black runs linked by 22 ski lifts, which are readily available for everyone to easily enjoy all that the zone has to offer, including its very own snow park. For more adventurous skiers there’s a half pipe, and little ones and beginners will enjoy access to the ski schools and a ski nursery. Cross country skiing is also available.
Skiing is the major attraction in La Joue du Loup and its surrounding area, although there are plenty of other ways to explore the mountains and stunning forests in winter. Snow-shoe walking is a popular choice for a more peacuful activity whereas adventurers will enjoy dog-sledding, ice climbing or even snow-kiting. There’s a sports centre with classes, and well-being and relaxation centre to ease of the day’s skiing with a steam and a massage.
