Saint Jean d’Arves offers its guests access to over 310 km of pistes and up to 124 slopes in the Sybelles area, in addition to a snow park and boardercross. Sybelles is a superb choice whether you’re looking for a family-friendly place where everyone can learn to ski, or you are visiting with a group of expert skiers. Found in the beautiful Maurienne region, the huge ski area of Sybelles is one of France’s largest ski areas and offering an impressive range of pistes, yet it remains relatively unknown. The area has an altitude range of 1600 metres 2265 metres, and boasts one of the best snow records in the French Alps, meaning there is good coverage throughout much of the season. The diversity offered by the Sybelles ski area attracts a wide variety of skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, from beginner to advanced levels.
Although Saint Jean d’Arves offers some fantastic opportunities for skiing and snowboarding, there are plenty of things to do away from the slopes as well. There is a cinema in the resort itself, ideal for rainy days and a break from skiing. There is a market which runs every Wednesday afternoon and offers visitors to chance to buy regional crafts and local products, as well as an organic market on Wednesday mornings in nearby St Jean de Maurienne.
